COTTON Architecture Studio is an architectural practice established in Athens, Greece, in 2020. The studio works across a broad range of scales, from the design of building complexes and architectural projects to the detailed design of interior spaces and bespoke elements.

The studio undertakes projects across diverse contexts, from dense urban environments to rural and natural landscapes, approaching each project with a focus on its architectural identity, spatial qualities, materiality, and relationship to its surroundings.

Philosophy

Our aim is to create spaces that foster a sense of belonging and well-being while preserving and enhancing the unique character of each place. In close dialogue with our clients, we explore their needs, aspirations, and ways of living, allowing each project to develop its own distinct identity—shaped by both the people and the context it inhabits.

Across our work, we are committed to a conscious and responsible approach to design, seeking to minimise environmental impact through thoughtful decisions regarding materials, resources, energy, and the relationship between each project and its surroundings.

Services

We oversee projects from initial concept through to completion, providing a comprehensive range of architectural services throughout the process. Our scope includes guidance on planning and licensing, building regulations and due diligence, as well as interior design and landscape architecture.

Through a network of experienced and trusted collaborators, we are able to respond to a diverse range of projects, scales, and client requirements. We work closely with specialised consultants and companies across disciplines including structural and civil engineering, mechanical engineering, land surveying, lighting design, and construction, ensuring a coordinated and integrated approach from design development to realisation.

People

Andreas Adam

Andreas Adam is the foundation of the studio. A graduate of the Department of Architecture at the University of Patras, a professional trombone player, with a keen eye for detail.

Driven by a constant desire to learn, and a passion for designing and creating distinctive living environments, Andreas approaches each project with curiosity and dedication. His extensive knowledge of planning legislation and building regulations further complements his design expertise, allowing him to develop a holistic approach to the fundamental question of “How should we design?”

Peni Filini

On the other hand, Peni Filini brings the vibrant energy to the studio. A graduate of the Department of Architecture at the University of Patras, also holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the Agricultural University of Athens.

Driven by a deep passion for nature, she explores innovative ways of integrating natural elements into the design process. Her approach to each new project begins with a careful and attentive reading of its context—including its orientation, views, landscape, and the distinctive character of each site.

For Peni, the site and its landscape are fundamental to the design process, often serving as the starting point for answering the central question: “How do we design?”
